An illustration for my series of books "Smoldering Hell".
This is one of my new oil paintings. Yes, this is realism, but not the photorealism that I suffered from at first and which I eventually came to hate. After moving away from photorealism, I began to embody much more feelings, moods and subtle emotional states in my works, whereas photorealism held me down, and the desire to achieve maximum realism destroyed the vividness and emotionality of the work. I usually painted using the watercolor technique (painting / graphics), in which, thanks to the specifics of the brushstroke, I was able to perfectly convey the "air". But recently I have tried and now I am confidently painting in the oil painting technique, and soon you will be able to see a couple more of my works in this style. The portrait of Raphael is actually far from the first painting of them, but I don't always publish the works in chronological order x)

And now about Archangel Raphael.
Of course, I much prefer writing texts and fabrications about our Darkness and the personalities involved in it, but we should not forget about the Light either, especially since, as a Chronicler of non-human world history, I am interested in the life and fate of every living soul, and therefore I am happy to observe anyone I write about in my chronicles and articles, comprehending both the living soul and the world, and oneself through the world and through the living soul observed in the lines, admiring the world in all its diversity and diversity.
_____________
For those who don't know:
- Who am I? Azazel Al-Khalifa, the archdemon of the East, now in human incarnation. And this is not a fucking fiction.
- What is my work about? I write and draw about real angels and demons, the Devil and God, about those events that were once serious; through my creativity, I strive to convey to people the truth about our world, about world history, about the Beast and Holiness, about Heaven and Hell, about the meaning of life and what is hidden from the eyes.
- How did I know all this? I receive revelations and visions, information from outside and from the memory of my own soul; and I am not alone in this, because I landed in this world together with Semiaza, with my chosen one: periodically we even receive the same revelations independently of each other.
- What is my goal? Open to you, Human, eyes, mind and heart.
______________
In general, it would be more logical to start articles about angels with a description of the life of the archangel Gabriel, but the other day I was suddenly inspired by the portrait of Raphael, which you see in the title of the article, therefore the first of the famous four is the Tetrad of Hayot ("Hayot" translates as "Saints"), or the Tetrad of Daat (Daat - one of the "side" sephirs (spheres of being), which are made up of the archangels Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael and Michael, who are extremely significant for Genesis and world history, I decided to consider Raphael. On icons and other images, of course, he is painted differently - they all have the same face there... I have depicted his real face in the portrait. He began wearing glasses and a suit in modern times, but in Heaven and in service, in accordance with the classical tradition there, he also appears in a toga. Glasses, of course, are not for eyesight, just for style. Like Gabriel and Uriel (but not Michael), Raphael is not one of the first-created angels, but was created by laboratory cultivation in a special Center (the name of which, alas, I do not remember yet), like all angels from a certain period. The first-created angels were created as adults (I was one of them), they did not know childhood and adulthood, they were immediately assigned to their assigned duties, and they were created according to the activities prescribed by the Lord Yahweh. For example, Semiaza and I were already created as a couple as complementary parts of the yin-yang and were further placed in charge of the Order of Grigory. Although it is worth saying that other angels, not the original ones, eventually came to the posts prepared for them by the Script, only it took more time. So, in the future, Yahweh introduced into Heaven the process of gradual development of the body - maturation - as the most harmonious principle. Thus, a pair of angels could donate their genes for interbreeding, and they received their child from the Center to raise their child. It is worth mentioning that it could be a couple of any gender (after all, angels also have a gender, they are not asexual as many people think): man with man, woman with woman, woman with man; it is so invented for the earthly physical world that childbearing is possible only between a wife and a husband, and this program (instinct) sometimes does not work for the benefit of spirituality and a sober mind; in Heaven, everything is different, and women do not give birth from themselves, although they have such an opportunity if they incarnate in the physical the world. Raphael's parents were his woman and man, whose names I can't remember now; the angel was born in ancient times, but the ancient ones were not particularly ancient: in those centuries when there was still the city of Sodom, which stood on the border with Canaan, and when Shaitan and his allies fell a long time ago, then settling in the cities of human rulers and Gods for ancient people (Sodom, mentioned in those days, belonged to the archdemon Belphegor, and his Fornication was located there, which was moved to Paris in modern times and called the Moulin Noir). And since childhood, Raphael had experienced injustice and prejudice in society: for he was born with wings the color of black; and a similar color of wings was called "devil's wing" by the people of heaven - this name was connected with the legend that when Lucifer's wings fell, they burned to the ground, blackening and charring in the process; whether it was because the color black was already firmly entrenched in the minds of one of the symbols of Darkness at that time, and everything that was black or a dark shade of gray/brown was stigmatized as "ugly", "vicious", "dirty". A larger percentage of the heavenly angelic population piously shares the views and policies of Yahweh, which very often led to various kinds of discrimination against those angelic citizens who somehow did not fit into the ideas of true Light and Righteousness. Interestingly, there was obviously zero justice in this, because the innocent Raphael was bullied by his peers from a young age, often subjecting him not only to ridicule, but also to beatings, whereas these peers, who were thus raping an innocent soul, for some reason were not considered bad or wrong. There is no justice not only in the earthly and human world, but also in the Heavenly and Divine world, because both are built by living souls who are dual in their essence.
Thus, Raphael grew up as a kind of outcast, which is why he was shaped personally as modest, withdrawn, restrained and not particularly confident in himself. But one day, when he was once again being bullied by a crowd of official children near one of the houses of heaven on one of the many streets, Gabriel, the same small boy, sullen, rude and quarrelsome, came to the rescue: Uriel called him then, his friend, a little younger, and Gabriel immediately hurried to protect the weak, gave a rebuff to arrogant bureaucratic children. It was then that Gabriel, Uriel and Raphael met each other. All three of them knew perfectly well what it meant to be outcasts, and what it was like to be the object of harassment; in Gabriel, Raphael found very significant support for himself, the example of the white-haired boy's waywardness inspired Raphael to work hard on himself, which, however, remained a secret from everyone: the angel was reasonable and thoughtful from childhood, and spent many hours introspection and the development of the will, the volitional core of his spirit. And one particular event hardened him even more.
Gabriel, who was still a small boy at that time, strongly disagreed with the bondage that reigned in Heaven, and with injustice among other things. Even then, the trinity of little angels were taken as disciples by Archangel Michael (there are no schools in Heaven, but there are mentors), and Michael, as the "right hand" of the Lord and a famous fighter against sin, did not share Gabriel's rebellious thoughts; when once again the children of the ranks beat Uriel almost to death, Gabriel became enraged, taking a lighted torch he went to the official quarter in order to burn down the houses of the officials. The families of Gabriel, Uriel, and Raphael belonged to the families of the simple winged people, to those who have neither rank nor dignity, and the inequality of nobility and commoners in Heaven has always been acutely felt, for angels are subject to pride, as well as other vices, and those who have rank will certainly become proud of this rank and begin to exalt oneself above those who have no rank. Michael then prevented Gabriel's rage, stood in his way, and everything would have been fine, however, if Gabriel had not offended the God in his angry speeches. That's when the fierce anger turned black around Michael's eyes, handsome and restrained.; and, dragging the reluctant Gabriel to his home, Michael famously whipped him with a rod, until he lost consciousness and completely. This was the last straw for the humiliated Gabriel: the boy planned an escape from Heaven.
Uriel and Raphael did not want to lose their friend, they wanted to stay with him, be on his side; therefore, they supported his idea, and the three of them managed to escape from Heaven to earth, which was not very easy to accomplish, but Raphael, already at that time an inquisitive mind, invented a way that proved successful.
Once in the terrestrial world, the boys rejoiced at freedom, flew and frolicked over wild fields, and then moved to a nearby city. Yes, according to the will of the Life Scenario, the city turned out to be the city of Sodom.
Of course, even though the boys hid their wings under their cloaks, they could not hide their presence from Belphegor, who reigned in the Sodom. He came out to them without horns, only his eyes were scarlet, but friends did not know, because no one had taught them that there are no red-eyed humans; by cunning and courtesy Belphegor lulled their vigilance, drove the boys in a chariot all day, gave sweets, and by night he drew them to himself, invited them through the doorway the dark one. The boys did not listen to the voice of their own intuition, they went into the doorway, but they realized too late: the door slammed behind them, evil spirits came out from everywhere, and Belphegor the triumphant grabbed friends, dragged them into his Fornication by force.
I described the ordeal of the boys in the Fornication in the book. The guys have been through terrible things.
However, the reader and the attentive viewer in my painting, in the portrait of the archangel Raphael, could see the scars that lay across the mouth of the archangel, on the right. Yes, the spiritual or semi-spiritual world is different from the physical world, and any injury disappears with time, any wound is healed... except for the specific wounds: those that remain as permanent scars on the heart of the sentient. It's a heartache, and everyone has one. And the scars on Raphael's face are a banner of his personal heartache, but besides that, his bravery and bravery in addition.
Yes, as I have said before, such a terrible ordeal only hardened Raphael's spirit. Uriel was broken, Gabriel was spiritually crippled, but not broken, and Raphael was clearly made stronger, although it also, of course, did not go harmlessly for the psyche. The guys have become even more ruthless, even more desperate. Michael saved them from captivity with heavenly ships, and the city of Sodom and the Fornication were destroyed from such a ship, Belphegor was sent to Hell, and the boys were returned to Heaven.
This was followed by the years of youth, growing up, and the army (every angel learns the military craft so that every warrior in time can fight for his life and God), and there friends firmly decided what they wanted from life: Gabriel set out to achieve the rank of archistratigus, Uriel went into the art and science of governing the celestial spheres, and Raphael chose the path of healing, for from childhood he was attracted to this field, however, destined for him by Fate and written in his name.
And all three of them were incredibly persistent in achieving their goals, splitting up and parting for many years, because they decided so and demanded the roads they chose. As a result, each of the comrades achieved their goal, and the trinity was reunited as senior leaders: Gabriel received the status of archistratigus and became part of the Sephiroth, heading the Sephira Yesod (Sephiroth - not only the peace of God, but also the most important order under Yahweh), Raphael glorified his name with achievements in healing and became the head of the field of healing and Sephira Tiphereth; Uriel, in accordance with his name ("Light of God"), became one of the patrons of Art and rulers of the heavenly bodies, and together with Michael, friends compiled a Tetrad of Hayot (the Four Saints), also known as the Tetrad of Daath (the four archangels are jointly the rulers of this sephira).
Thus, Archangel Raphael is known to the human people as the archangel, the patron saint of healing, the healer of any ailment, the mentor and the sage; Raphael is restrained, serious, noble in bearing, and knows how to give coolness and warm the gaze of bright, radiant eyes, incredibly sad, hiding in the depths of his grave age-old pain. He is brave, responsible, sometimes gentle, sometimes cruel. He's the one who cut off my wings on God's orders. However, I saw his eyes when he looked at me, at the horned one: there was sincere remorse in them.
I don't have much more to say about Raphael. A great healer who was faithful to his service and hid a burden in his heart that he was not used to telling anyone about.
