Now he's a servant to Sonic.SMILE, having no memory what went down during his killing.
Reason for how he and Fro5tbyte.ZIP started dating is that Sonic.SMILE was in the middle of a winter isles and got cold, Fro5tbyte found him and gave him a coat for warmth at first sight.

Biography/Story:
A long time ago back in the AU of Sonic Boom, Sonic and his team, titled "Team Sonic", are in another fight with Dr. Eggman and his badniks...this battle was so hard, so botched up that it nearly put the team into a major accident to the point of a near death experience. This terrible accident has completely put Sonic in a coma from a hard fight, leaving a surviving Eggman and his badniks escape to his lair without any injuries and the rest of his surviving team to drive Sonic into Emergency.

Sonic then saw something in his dream during a coma, the village damaged and on fire, noone here, nothing but just Sonic himself. Then, there was ghostly voices of unseen villagers...

"SELFISH"

"IS THAT WHAT YOUR CONFIDENCE ONLY LEADS TO?"

"IT'S YOUR FAULT FOR NOT HELPING US"

"YOU COULD'VE GOT US ALL KILLED...DID YOU?"

"THERE IS NO HOPE ANYMORE"

More voices kept blaming on Sonic, making much matters worse for him...He tried to get them to stop, but they kept coming back and keeps getting louder. He tried to make them go away, but they won't...it gets to the point where it all ends with him being dragged by a set of mobian arms with gloves...and woke up. Upon waking up, Tails then began to explain to his teammates what's wrong with Sonic's head after a botched up fight with Eggman. Eversince an incident in the island to the point of putting in the coma, Sonic's been struggling with his mental illness, and tries so hard to fight his negative symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, disorganized and intrusive thoughts, and catatonic behaviors. He's been trying so hard to fight those inner demons in his head, making him feel dread, self-doubt, and grow worried about what's gonna become of his town and his friends and thinking it was Eggman's fault he ruined him mentally.

Because of this, Sonic resorted to those "Happy Drugs" that he has stolen from Eggman's Lair when his lair was no longer on Lockdown following another defeat of Eggman prior. No matter how he steals them, Eggman have kept more of the drugs secured to prevent Sonic from taking them, but he always keep taking more. He's been taking those daily to numb the negativity and the mental illness to stay positive due to Tails' wishes and his warnings about the side-effects. A little did the two of them know was that Eggman put some "Seriously" disturbing side-effects...

Side-effects when not taking daily and taking a huge amounts of those so-called "Happy Drugs" are nothing compared to a massive headache and nausea, such as fur and spines turning half-yellow, marmalization, eternal euphoria, loss of sanity, and destructive and violent tendencies. Unfortunately, Sonic wasn't suspicious of the side-effects that Eggman put in as he naively took the drugs. The next thing he knows that an overdosing amount of drugs would lead to his most HORRIBLEmistake of his life...

As Sonic's Happy Drug addiction grew worse in the process, he slowly started descending into madness, quills and fur slowly turning half yellow, he felt pain from his eyes, as he leaked yellow goop out of it, there were patches off fur decomposing, leaving into a spiral mess, and he has grown yellow, sharper claws and sharp teeth, he kept vomiting out some spiraling vomit...the pain started to "feel more good" rather than worse...was it?

After an entire amount of Happy Drugs he took too much, his mind was completely broken as he's mentally destroyed by himself, filling him up with madness. Sonic was gone, and now...there is only a psychopath left behind.

Weeks have passed since the former Sonic went missing and his teammates went to find him, one of the teammates of Sonic's was Tails. He's been searching for his sidekick in the village all night until...there was bloody tracks, that made him petrified, but he attempts to be brave by following them. While following the tracks, Tails then stepped on and looked at on his shoe's on what appears to be yellow, glowing goop...and when Tails looked at the yellow tracks, he gagged in disgust...as if he was about to vomit.

Then there he saw...was Sonic, but he isn't the Sonic that Tails used to know...to his horror. His spines were all yellow, half of his fur patches were decomposed into marmalized spirals, sharp yellow claws have grown out of his gloves, his sports tapes were ruined, and the worse part of it all...his eyes were literally "Spiraling" as if he was "Out of Control", he was smiling...MENACINGLY, and what Tails saw much to his horror was that he saw him covered in blood with a knife on his hand...stabbing a victim repeatedly, Tails bursted into tears as he shuddered in fear. He was SO scared that Tails ended up confronting "Sonic"...

"S-Sonic, why would you do this to yourself...? I told you to take them daily, and you overdid it...did you? You should've listen to my warnings more often..."


"..."

The smiling hedgehog was silent, turning his head and staring at Tails menacingly. Tails yelled out...

"YOU KILLED A MAN! AN INNOCENT MAN! DIDN'T YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!"


"..."


There was no response, Tails tried yelling again to get his once-sidekick to answer him, as he wanted to be as noninvasive as possible.


"Sonic, I swear to god, JUST LOOK AT ME AND LISTEN TO WHAT I'M SAYING! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND!? I NEED ANSWERS FOR FUCK'S SAKE!"


"..."


"S-Sonic...?!"

The smiling hedgehog's heart beat went faster, as he creepily steps forwards to a frightened Fox.

"Oh, it was the damage Robotnik cause that broke my mind into pieces! Shatter, shatter..."

He then revealed to Tails that it wasn't the man the hedgehog killed, but...the next thing Tails know that...he killed HALF of the civillains of the village, to Tails' horror. He's been killing anyone in his way to achieve his goal...to get "Revenge" on Robotnik...

"I made EVERYONE in the town including my friends Happy...SO WILL YOU?! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"


Soon, the psychopathic Hedgehog soon begun chasing after the goggled two-tailed fox as he tried running away from him...unfortunately, he's not even fast enough to escape, so the smiling Hedgehog grabbed the once-sidekick by the two tails, ripped them off, and cornered him to the ground. On his knees, he stabbed him, MULTIPLE times as Tails screamed in pain, begging for help...but nobody heard him, the pain continues until he bled to death.

He couldn't believe it, he had killed his once best-friend...But the voices in his head keeps repeating...

"KILL. KILL THEM. KILL THEM ALL."

He then licks the blood off his knife, as he planned to kill more, the homicide he committed can't stop.

He wasn't going to be called Sonic no more...but SMILE, Sonic.SMILE.

The next victim was Knuckles, whom he tried fighting SMILE when he spotted him. Knuckles tried to apphrehend him, but was stabbed on the head by the hedgehog and dismembered him into pieces using a buzzsaw he found. The third one is Amy, she tried attacking SMILE with her Hammer, when she knocked him out, she thought was victorious, but he got up out of his inner violence as he shoved her right behind him, stole her hammer, and bashed her brains in. The fourth one is Sticks, whom she found SMILE in the jungle. Sticks had a very hard fight with him and it gets exactly to the point where he strangled her to death with her own boomerang.

The entire team is no more, Sonic.SMILE has stolen each of his weapons...but the next and fifth victim he wanted to KILL the most was his "Arch-Nemesis" as SMILE told himself...

"It's time to pay the doctor a GOOD visit."

On the brink of his massacre, SMILE finally went inside Dr. Eggman's Lair...where he managed to go through Eggman's robots, even Orbot and Cubot, in a completely homicidal manner, none of Eggman's robots were lucky enough to stop him. Once that happened, he'd finally went up to Eggman, who shows the remains of his minions, and his lackeys (to Eggman's horror).

Eggman confronted the hedgehog for the mess he made, upon giving him a reasoning, he creepily stood before him with his knife...

"This is the last time you almost FINISHED me, you thought you'd left me for dead...but now that I'm alive again, it's my turn to FINISH YOU OFF!"

Now even more afraid of him, Eggman gave up fighting back and had tried pleaded for mercy...

...but unfortunately, it was too late.

"What are you doing?! Don't come any closer! Stay away! STAY BACK! STOP! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....!!"

SMILE then pushed Robotnik onto the ground and stabbed him multiple times, killing him BRUTALLY. But he didn't leave him for dead yet...SMILE ate some of Eggman's organs before replacing them with spare parts of his badniks and giving him a few more hearts, and bringing him back to life, making him into his servant with his memory of his killing removed. Shortly afterwards, SMILE then stole the torn jacket of Eggman's remains, but wiped the blood off of himself clean. After this happened, he was soon found out by nothing other than...

Shadow the Hedgehog.

Both SMILE and Shadow fought eachother to near death, just as SMILE was about to finish him off...Shadow uses the powers of "Chaos Control" to defend himself from his old rival to escape, though got a scar on the face during the fight. During the Chaos Control, Shadow then found Eggman's portal gun, that can travel throughout multidimensions and AUs. He took the portal gun and opened one of the unidentified dimensions, and escaped from SMILE. The "Chaos Control" no-longer ocurred, but SMILE would eventually discover the portal gun, take it with him, and open a new portal and jumped in it, leaving his dimension behind.
At 21 years, on this vary day, SMILE has been searching for him ever since, killing anyone in his way, to achieve his own goal. Shadow has been running away from SMILE ever since.
