Just some very self indulgent fan art for my most favorite band.. Ghost! They released a new album in April and there’s a song called “Satanized” on there and all my brain could visualize was “evil baptism?” lol. I’ve actually had this sketch for a while but couldn’t get myself to do any coloring or line art. I just didn’t feel like I could really capture WHAT I was visualizing.. it didn’t help that in my brain his hair and clothing were moving in the “water” and that his eyes were blinking (maybe glowing at times). I’m no animator… though a I dabble, but I do not enough skill to masterly capture the image I want AND make it move.

Anyway, my thought on the song (that no one asked for) ;

If you know anything about Ghost.. it’s that they’re basically a rock band making satire music about the Church/religion, sometimes meaningful and sometimes funny. Their whole costume-look and fantasy “lore” is based around an evil/dark church. (I love that they have LORE, lol). I think the song “Satanized” is about a “Good” Clergymen fighting his desires and attempting to devote himself to his faith, however he is failing. His desires (we do not know if they are good or bad), are consuming him and he does give into those demons. Making him no longer a clergy man for the Faith he believed in and now Satanizing him (which I chose to kinda create by having him “baptized” in reddish liquid). A sort of, hey you fell from Grace, welcome to your new Satanic church. Committing the sin maybe was the baptism? That’s my thoughts/opinions on the matter, you’re welcome.
