More of a symbolic piece than anything. More than often not fire is a destructive thing, wreaking havoc, but in certain contexts, certain times, situations, it can be incredibly freeing, relieving to watch those wreathes of orange and white dance and sashay around each other like lovers. I guess my thoughts while making this were casting worries, fears, anxieties into oblivion. A moment to breathe and realize that for moment, if only a moment, I can breathe, that things will be alright as the sparks lift and dissipate. The fields around my characters contain old things that I've come across that have nestled themselves deep into my memory; an old burn barrel, a family members old car left to gather rust, random bits of junkyard scrap. Symbols of the past.
Growing older, moving on.
I finally settled on the name "To the Stars" for this piece taken from the Kendall:3 song of the same name from their Elden Ring tribute album.
