The next morning, Remy and Scott returned to the Great Wolf Geyser with Oliver. They followed him from behind.
"What's this all about, Oliver?" asked Remy.
"I assure you," said Oliver, "you will not regret this incredible surprise that the Great Wolf Spirit has for your indulgence."
Scott laughed. "I can't contain my excitement."
They entered the cave and made their way to the geyser. The rest of the Great Wolf Pack were there waiting for them.
"Oh," said Cascade, "Welcome back, Remy and Scott. The Great Wolf Spirit has invited you to follow the Great Wolf Pack on an adventure!"
"Really?" asked Remy, "What kind of adventure?"
"You'll see," said Violet. "It's just a few places we've traveled to to help those in need."
Remy and Scott nodded, understanding now.
"And now," said Cascade, "you two will see for yourselves how the Great Wolf Pack travels across the forest with ease."
She stirred the geyser with her spoon and a large whirlpool was created. it rose into the air and snaked towards the top.
"It's time to slide!" the Pack cried with glee.
Oliver turned back towards Remy and Scott.
"Hurry up, you two. Adventure awaits your arrival!"
The two friends looked at one another and nodded. They jumped into the sidewinding stream and were lifted up with everyone else.
They went up and over the cave before sliding down into a dark tunnel.
The pack howled in unison as they disappeared down, down into the abyss.
They twisted and turned with increasing speed. The tunnel was illuminated with more mysterious orbs and pictographs.
When they reached the end, they found themselves in a hollow area with waterfalls on all sides.
"Where are we?" asked Remy.
Violet smiled. "I think I know where."
They heard footsteps approaching. A small, old sea otter appeared from the right.
"Hey there, Wolf Pack!" he said cheerfully. "I was told of your coming."
"Remy, Scott," said Wiley, "this is Aloysius Otter."
"But," said the otter, "you can just call me Wishes."
The two friends laughed and shook hands with him.
"Haven't seen you two down here before."
"We're new here," said Scott. "We were invited."
"By the Great Wolf Spirit," said Remy.
Wishes rubbed his whiskers. "Uh-huh. It's not often the Great Wolf Spirit invites others here, or other certain places. But I suppose he trusts you enough. Anyway, follow me. "
The pack followed Wishes down a narrow hallway, walking on a metal catwalk.
"How are things down here?" asked Brinley.
"Oh, pretty good," said Wishes. "The waterways are clear, and the locals are working together fine."
They came to a large metal door and Wishes pulled a chain, opening it.
When it rose, they entered an enormous room.
Remy and Scott looked in awe at a large machine, a giant filter, with several clear pipes attached to it.
"This,' said Wishes, "is Otter Cave. Us otters keep the waterways sanitary and running clear.
"Incredible," said Remy.
"Yeah," said Wishes. "Ain't it something? Anyway, you best be on your way."
He pulled a lever that opened a doorway into the wall.
Everyone got on the slide connected to the door and disappeared down another tunnel.
The Great Wolf Pack showed them the swamp where the Froglins and Morpholes resided.
Then they visited Kaleidoscope Cave, home of the Glow Bats.
Soon they returned to the Great Wolf Geyser. Cascade was there waiting for them.
"So, how was your adventure?"
"Amazing!" cried Remy.
"It was the most incredible I've ever been on!" said Scott.
Cascade laughed. "I'm so glad you both had fun. But now, it's time to go home."
Remy sighed. "Yeah," I guess you're right. But we met many new creatures and saw so many sights."
"Was it worth your curiosity?" asked Oliver.
"Entirely."
Remy and Scott said good-bye to Cascade and thanked the Great Wolf Pack for the adventure. They promised not to tell anyone about where they went or what they saw.
The next morning, before heading for home, Remy, Scott and the Great Wolf Pack all gave a quick howl. For they had been accepted by the Great Wolf Spirit.
