I will yell until my lungs collapse how much I despise consumerism but then I will be a hypocrite solely in regards to all the Chinese ice cream shop chains that serve absolutely banger soft-serve ice cream and iced tea for the equivalent of like $2.25. Like why the fuck would people ever go to McDonalds when fucking Mixue exists for a fraction of the price AND had working ice cream machines
The cheap ice cream is one of the things I really enjoy while being back here in Malaysia, it's carrying a lot of the load in terms of keeping me from being depressed all the time. And since I'm here, why not make it a funny little quirk for Iris as well. She too will make terrible financial decisions when ice cream and boba tea are being offered at afforable prices.
And Ruby gets it. Even if it's her credit card taking the brunt of the expenditure for Iris.
