Generally speaking, esp in my education back in the day, tangents and supper close spacing were avoided, it still exists in comman wisdem today, a good example in animation is: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/21/a.....51b8e8175d.png
To be clear, its generally good advice, but i feel that knowing how much the connections and spacing draw attention, if intentionsal you will REALLY make sure someone looks somewhere. I found this in some of Dali's art and thought it worth playing with. Also trying to play with simple rendering, not a fan of the execution but the search is ongoing.

love this one. all your recent uploads have been wonderful
i'm working on reevaluating my relationship with tangents, too. art education and resources geared towards more disney-adjacent cartooning made me scared to death of an accidental tangent while i was young, but ive lost interest in that school of thought! much more exciting at present to experiment with tangents as just another tool one can use to guide an eye around the page
