The threats in the desert were growing each day, and Rauru was starting to get nervous. As such, he conducted his own investigation, hoping to see what was happening there, and if his forces could be enough to handle an attack. He travelled alone, not wanting to draw attention to himself.

As his feet sank into the sand with each step, he rounded the top of a dune, only to hear a shrill laugh. A figure, cloaked in red, appeared from a sparkle of light, dancing on the air as if a solid ground formed beneath each foot as it stepped. It laughed once more, and swung a magic rod towards the Zonai. Rauru braced himself, though the ball of light that formed from the rod hit the sand instead of him. He prepared to strike back, when suddenly...

His feet were yanked into the ground! He looked down, surprised, before giving each one a tug. No use, he was stuck as his ankles were engulfed. He was pulled down, thrashing and trying to get free. The sand shifted and moved as more of his body was swallowed, stopping at his neck. The sand continued to move and worm around him, and he felt his legs get forced up. His feet shot out from the sand, the mound around him solidifying now, packing itself snugly around him. He wriggled and kicked his feet, glaring at the wizzrobe as he realized he was stuck.

He demanded release, though his request was not granted. Instead, the wizzrobe gave him a alarmingly smug grin...
