The ToonThick device (July 2023, please read description)
This is the cleaner vector version of the original ToonThick device that has been in use since July 2023.
This has effectively been my icon and my signature for more than 3 years, and whilst it has served me well, the ToonThick device you see here has now aged very poorly.
Take away the straw and eyebrows, and this logo will resemble that of "Sora 2"; OpenAI's video generator. And I hate it!
I started thinking about this last week; am I going to have to ditch the existing ToonThick device to avoid clashing with Sora 2? A week later, that answer is unfortunately, yes.
And so with some regret, the existing ToonThick device you see here will be retired at the end of November, and replaced with a new logo which I have already created, using Clip Studio Paint of course!
Slop aside, the change will allow me to have 2 mascots instead of just 1. Joe the pineapple will join Seb (who will still be around) as the mascots of ToonThick. This change will also allow for Seb to be a character in ArtFight. Seb is currently banished from there since it is otherwise a logo, but the retirement of the existing ToonThick device will remove that barrier, and Seb can join many of my other characters in ArtFight.
Another thing I will probably end up doing with this change, is leave YouTube. That platform is a shambles, and its algorithm is continuing to pointlessly feed me political and economical slop I'm not interested in! Plus: all those fake ads! I'm only subscribed to 3 channels on there as ToonThick: AJMarekArt (Murphy & Mitzi); TJ THE KID (thatraccoonlad on Bluesky), and; The Woohoos! (a pre-school cartoon). I will either private all my 25 publicly listed videos, or delete the channel altogether!
I will also delete the Google account that is associated with my YouTube channel that focused mainly on trains (@/FangRail), which has been dormant for the last 6 years. There are 360 videos on that channel; 359 of them are public, 1 is partially blocked on copyright grounds. This Google account also dates back to when I started FangRat on DeviantArt, more than 9 years ago. Of course, I'm scaling down my use of Google products and services, which began 2 months ago when I started using Firefox as my main web browser.
For any new and existing animated videos of mine, the main platform will be Newgrounds, as well as Bluesky.
So, where was I? Oh yeah, I'm going to officially change my logo at the end of November. I will still be ToonThick, but ToonThick itself will have a fresh new look that won't remind me of slop!
