My gut instinct is telling me Red and Swift are too entrenched with the old ways for them to embrace change. Their destiny is not going to be with the hollow, or whatever it is Rask ends up creating himself (since the hollow really isn't that welcoming, I don't see him staying there long term.) Red was simply baiting Rask to make himself more vulnerable for his mate to snag, he was never going to listen with sincerity. His expression on this page illustrates that.
Hope for that lies more with their kids, given their prior encounter with Hemlock and present encounter with Rask might give them different ideas. I suspect the cubs will find themselves orphans when the Zenith pack finally catch up to them.
