"I can't believe I'd see the day..."
A common sentiment throughout the land, especially in the wake of the wave of gigantism spreading throughout the land. Most beasts spent their days hoping that the cruel and vindictive giants, or those that simply saw themselves as greater than everyone else, never found their town. The stories of destruction they'd heard from other pockets of civilisation sent a chill running down one's spine. But on the day Haru had emerged as one of those afflicted with this wondrous, physical advancement, the destruction they'd foretold never came to pass.
Instead, Haru demanded work begin on tools, bigger versions of existing items that folks used in their everyday. Trowels, buckets, traffic cones and even safety tape. Scientists worked tirelessly to ensure things were feasible, new methods of production were created solely for the purpose of making whatever Haru requested. The beasts below were just happy to be doing something that didn't involve running and screaming. They spoke with Haru, went over designs and plans. She tested prototypes to ensure they didn't break in her stronger grip, and before long she had everything she needed to get to work.
What that work was, well even that was different to what was expected. Twinned with a local construction company, Haru combined her tools and her gardening knowledge to build neighbourhoods. She dug the holes to lay the foundations and then place a prefabricated building into the allotted space. She was permitted to design and build the neighbourhood as she liked, arranging the houses in any formation, so long as it remained within the cone-marked zone. She got to mark out the spaces for roads and various topiaries, fully sculpting and laying out the topography to match the ideas in her head. Then, when it was all complete, the company moved in to work on the plumbing, the electrics and anything else that needed smaller hands to make work.
The end result? Proof of the wonders of working with a collaborative giant and a hope that in the future, a more symbiotic existence could be achieved.
