I really wanted... no, I just needed to draw a quick holiday-themed sketch with Zigg and Rattmarr!
There must be a moment in the text when, during their journey, they remembered that one of winter holidays had arrived and decided to celebrate it as best they could. It wasn't Christmas or New Year, but something similiar.
I added garlands because their celebration is so modest that it's hardly distinguishable from a regular meal. But the most important thing for them is what they eat in honor of the holiday.
Ziggy cooked the stew, and Marr, who doesn't have much culinary talent, was delighted with this simple and, I'm sure, incredibly delicious dish. Especially after he had to eat almost nothing but tough meat of birds he caught for a whole month. And especially when it's so cold around!
Marr's cape is very warm, as it's lined with fur, and he gave it to Zigg. Zigg is old and used to spend winters at home, in the warmth, so he often feels cold. Marr himself is not so sensitive to frost, and a thin blanket is enough for him.
