Isn't autocorrect wonderful? LOL. I learned a little trick to stop that. Accept the change, type another word, go back and type what you want, then press the "END" key. Autocorrect won't change the word if you do that.

My first video card was a VESA card. I upgraded the video ram to 2mb, using a soldering iron. 800x600 at 16 bit color was such an upgrade. Before, I had to choose between 640x480 16 bit or 800x600 256 color.

My current night stand is a TRS-80 with a 286 on top.

My tech-ed teacher recognized me 20 years later, saying "Aren't you the guy who water-cooled his PC with a dehumidifier?" I think I left an impression. Not sure if it was a good or bad one, but it was an impression nonetheless.

I'm kinda glad that air-cooling tech got better. Water cooling was kind of a pain. I still have some slot 1 processors.

I don't actually remember if the modem was PCI or ISA. It could've very well been ISA, in which case this comic presents an anachronistic anomaly 😅

I do remember the 33.6k one was PCI, because that went into a newer computer a few years later.

OMG I remember those old days when my Packard Bell comp came with a 14.4Kbps Modem on a ISA Riser slot. Like any other, I tried Prodigy, then Compuserve, then AOHell. XD

Sounds a bit like the first PC that I had! Packard Bell 401CD. 14.4k modem, 75 MHz Pentium CPU, 8MB. Netcom was my first ISP.

My first "ISP" was actually through my middle school's modem pool, with some complex routing through their BBS. We didn't get a proper ISP dial-up account until a few years later.
