Some time ago I did my take on Freddy Krueger and I couldn't help but update/expand on it. The reason why he's in bandages is because he didn't die in the plant fire.
He was fished out by the authorities who arrived just in time and was placed in the hospital where he slowly expired in agony. As his body was nearing a full shutdown, three hooded figures appeared out of no where around his bed. They spoke to him and he understood every word, despite the damage to his inner ear. They promised him so much. So many wonderous things. With his last dying breath, he said "yes".
Soon after that, nothing was ever the same again.
