Some gift art for a friend on Facebook that I promised and forgot about until they reminded me last night. >.<

Ahaha, yeah, your perception always changes after you post it. XD
Mmkays, that arm that's up in the air... I'm not really sure what's going on with it. XD The elbow should be right about where the mane is, yet it looks like you have it much further up. And if that's the wrist... well, wrists don't really work like that. Even if it's not, the bend of the wrist is still off some. The wrist on the other arm is bent too much, too. (If all else fails, you can always use your own hands for reference.)
The body is far too short in proportion to the head, and needs a little more definition. (We're not cylinders. :P)
The right leg (the one in the back) is pretty good, but that just makes the left leg in front look even worse. You have nice definition on the thigh and calf in the back one, whereas the other leg is relegated to simple curves. The thigh on the front leg isn't too bad, but he seriously needs a calf. XD
The lower section on the legs (from the ankle down, where the dark part is; not sure of its name) are two different lengths and widths. Unless he had polo when younger, this needs some fixing. You also gave this poor hyena two left paws. :/ I know it's simple and easy to draw paws that way, but that's not really how they work.
Hope I didin't sound to harsh, but mostly, I hope I helped. :3

Gah! You've discovered my greatest weakness! Anatomy! In all seriousness though, I really have no choice but to keep practicing these things and have friendly people like you point out how horribly I've done them until I can start making them look right. That and I know I should force myself to use references more... I'll try and watch out for these things in the next pic.
Anatomy is everyone's weakness! XD But you know, instead of running to references all the time... just look at people. I typically don't use much in the way of references unless I'm going to try a dramatic pose. For instance, I did not use refrences for this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8229172/ but I did use references for this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8317001 Just do some people watching and you'll be surprised at how much it helps. Once you have a basic knowledge of how things are put together, you won't need refs so much. For that matter, studying the skeleton helps tons, too. Then once you start, just sketch out a basic skeleton and put the muscles and skin over it.
