>>> Watch Me Draw This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=R7Rey4X8KQs
Originally, this project began as a vent drawing. The opening song to the video this can be combined with- along with the title of the finished product- "Surrender" seemed like an appropriate summary of the emotions that went behind the work. I've become expectant that my vent pictures never get finished, considering whenever I do draw when I'm upset that I can hardly scribble straight lines. So yes, as a result you all get a Naria-fox in the snow.
Hopefully, the next time I'm left unable to voice my feelings that it'll turn out as... Productive as it did here. When people say art can be theraputic, they aren't kidding. Granted, the whole activity doesn't cooperate with you every time but on the rare occasions you spit out something new because of some nasty else all swirling up inside you... You come out of it feeling glad you didn't lay in your bed and bawl helplessly. It's empowering, I guess you could say. Reminds me of a Doctor Who episode, actually... *fangirl alert* Vincent Van Gogh using his brush strokes to turn his hurt into something beautiful. Now that's insparational if I've ever heard of it. My urge to paint snow is well timed, with the New Year rolling in. That's right, it's nearly 2013! Is it just me or does time feel like it's racing by?
Happy New Year wishes to everyone out there.
