What are some examples in other Stephen King books of children, the elderly, and people with different mental capabilities possessing a greater degree of spiritual perception?

Did anyone else find that the ending of the story flopped? I felt let down.

Dana Absolutely not. If the entire book led up to one thing, that was it. Jake returning to Texas just to dance with Sadie one last time.
