Absolutely obsessed with this cover, but have never read/played any WoW. Is it okay to start with this book or should I start somewhere else? TIA.

Avoiding spoilers, but this is borderline a biography of the Slyvanas character and assumes you already know at least the high level details of several very major story elements within the Warcraft game franchise, focusing instead on the pieces of her specific tale that surround these events.

Avoiding the games, I think you might be able to get by just reading (or reading cliff notes of) "Arthas: Rise of the Lich King." You may also find "Before the Storm," also written by Golden, and then "Shadows Rising" to be useful reads as well.
