The fourth book in the Edgars Family Romantic Suspense Series
They had a history… Five years earlier Luke Edgars and Abigail Whitson met at FLETC, the training center for government agents. It was instant dislike. She thought him an arrogant, showoff flirt, he thought it would be safer for everyone if she stayed behind her analyst’s desk.
She’s in trouble… Now Luke’s world turns sideways when he finds Abby standing in the middle of a bloody crime scene and the victim has vanished.
He needs to protect her… Luke realizes that not only does Abby need his help to find her friend, but the friend has put Abby in the cross-hairs of a dangerous group who will stop at nothing to hide their secrets.

This was book 4 in the "Edgars Family Novels"Luke Edgars is an agent for the Treasury Department he first met Abigail "Abby" Whitson at FLETC, the training center for government agents they didn't get off to a good start. This was a really good read I loved both of these characters. Luke is called in to assist another agent from the Treasury Department in Cleveland. When he arrives he finds the very last agent that he would expect on this new case turns out its Abby. When she goes to Cleveland to meet with her friend Brianna. Brianna has called Abby to help her with some irregularities she had found in her company’s books. She gets there too late she finds blood every where and the house has been gone through. When Luke arrives he knows that Abby has stepped into something dangerous. As they begin to unravel the mysterious disappearance of Brianna and what she may have found it becomes very clear that this is more than a case of embezzlement, fraud, and misappropriation. There are indications that Senator Klein is involved. Senator Klein is already on their radar after the operating room incident that put Judy’s life in danger. What they have found is far more than they can handle. It’s time to call in reinforcements. It’s time to call his brothers and Frank. They can come up with a plan, save Brianna, bring in the bad guys, and free the other the victims. As they work together they get close and realize that each one is different than what they thought. I loved that Luke's family would stop at nothing to help one another. Abby is a smart sexy and fierce. I listened to this book on audio and I loved the narration. I am looking forward to listening to the next book in this series.
3.5 stars While the story was really engaging and VERY dark, Luke wasn't as charming as his brothers, I liked Abby and her friend Briana very much but the main relationship wasn't well developed .. In this book we follow Luke the youngest brother of the Edgars family when he gets assigned with Abby ( who can't stand him since training days ) to solve a mystery of the disappearance of Briana, Abby's friend, and with that they discover a whole another world living right under their noses the story was fast paced and I could follow their thinking just fine .. so it was a nice read for me but not the best
Wow, non stop action with plenty of depth of character in this story. I’m so glad I found this one on Audible. Great narration as well. Happy reading and listening!
Suzanne Ferrell has done again! Her latest release Vanished is gritty, intense, action packed, and edgy suspense. Vanished keeps the reader at the edge of their seats with their hearts pumping. The Edgar family has a knack for taking charge of dangerous situations that require their special blend of seize and capture. When the Edgars step in the bad guys are going down no matter what.
Luke Edgar is an agent for the Treasury Department. You would think that this department is full of nerds. That may be, but these nerds are highly trained federal agents who not only use their brains as ammo, but can also use force if necessary. Luke’s motto is “follow the money”. It always leads to the bad guys.
Luke is called in to assist another agent from the Treasury Department in Cleveland. When he arrives he finds the very last agent that he would expect on this new case. He encounters Abigail Whitson. Five years earlier he had went through government training with Abigail. They had a rocky relationship in the past. He thought she was too soft to become an agent and better off becoming an analyst behind the scenes. She thought he was an arrogant, womanizing jerk. The two of them working together would be like water and oil.
Abigail has gone to Cleveland to meet with her friend Brianna. Brianna had called Abby to help her with some irregularities she had found in her company’s books. This company is a large export and import company that has several contracts with the government. Brianna knows that Abby is trustworthy and that her brilliant mind will see the irregularities and their source.
Abby arrives at Brianna’s home too late. There is blood everywhere. The house has been ransacked. She has no clue of what kind of irregularities Brianna has found. The one thing she does know is that these irregularities have become dangerous and life threatening.
Luke arrives at the same time and once he assesses the situation. It is clear that Brianna got into a situation that is highly dangerous. Now Abby is on the radar of whoever is behind this crime. He will do everything he possibly can to protect Abby. She is the one woman that has always mattered and touched his soul.
As they begin to unravel the mysterious disappearance of Brianna, what she may have found, it becomes very clear that this is more than a case of embezzlement, fraud, and misappropriation.
The case that unfolds will keep the readers at the edge of their seat. Luke and Abigail’s chemistry is through the roof. They will steal the reader’s heart. And off course all the beloved Edgars, their spouses, adopted brother Frank Castello, and a new cast of characters will be there to take down the bad guys.
The Edgars are a dedicated family, they will always have each others backs. When the Edgars take over the case….they kick butt!
Job well done. Suzanne Ferrell has delivered another hair raising romantic suspense. I loved it!
I highly recommend Vanish. It can be read as a stand alone or in series order. I would highly recommend reading the entire Edgar Family series. This family is something else.
The Edgars Family Series Kidnapped Hunted Seized Vanished
I've read the previous books in this series and enjoy reading about how the characters are doing. However each book is a stand alone and can be enjoyed all on its own. This one is a little intense as it deals with Abby's friend Brianna who was kidnapped for finding information about the business she worked at that was more damaging than she realized. Luckily she called her good friend and fellow brainiac Abigail, who works for the treasury, and had her come to visit. Abby called the local field office and they sent Luke and here is where the story starts. It's nice to see a strong female in a story along with a complicated situation. Each book has a different but intense theme to it. This one is human trafficking. There usually isn't a lot of mystery to the stories but there is a lot of intensity and some interesting characters that have you hoping you find more about in the next book.
Never a dull moment in the lives of the Edgars siblings. Luke Edgar doesn’t have what you’d think would be a dangerous job as he works for the Treasury Department. But when he’s redirected to help out a fellow agent he has a bit a of a history with from their training days he realizes they have walked into a very dangerous situation.
Abigail Whitson grew up an orphan. She was always taller than the other girls and had a head for numbers and a photographic memory. She found an ally in the orphanage named Brianna and they have stayed close friends. When Abby gets a call from Brianna needing her advise on something she found in the books at the company she works for Abby waste no time in going to meet her friend. But what she finds when she gets there is her place totally trashed and lots of blood but no Brianna.
As the story progresses we find out along with Luke and Abby that what Brianna uncovered was far worse than embezzlement or money laundering and they know it’s a race to try and find her before she’s dead if she isn’t already.
Luke and Abby had a strained relationship since training. She thought Luke didn’t think she could handle field work and that he was the reason she was assigned desk work. These two bickering banter back and forth before they finally gave in and admitted their true feelings was entertaining.
Once it starts becoming clear what Brianna had gotten herself mixed up in Luke waste no time in calling old family friend Frank Costello and eventually his brothers to help them rescue and take down the organization that has her. I loved that two of the wives even got to be part of the mission.
As always it was a joy to read this latest book from Suzanne that’s always filled with a great romance, lots of action and danger and siblings that always have each other’s back.
I've loved this series so far and have fallen in love with the characters. The love and loyalty of the Edgars family makes them endearing, and there's nothing they wouldn't do for each other or the people they grow to love. Luke is no exception and his protection of Abigail makes sense as we realise quite early on that he has always had feelings for her. Abigail has secrets of her own and isn't inclined to share them with Luke at first as she feels rejected by him, but he is a very perceptive man and works it out for himself quite easily. Trust doesn't come easily to them in the beginning but as the story unfolds, so does their relationship. The story begins with Abigails friend's abduction but turns into something much more sinister. The subject matter is at times a disturbing one, that of human traficking and there are parts that made me slightly uncomfortable, but in a good way because it got me thinking and feeling about the characters in the situation. The story drew me in more and more as Luke, Abigail and their associates uncovered each new layer to the mystery that was before them. If you've read any of these books you'll know that where there's one Edgar there's more, and Luke calls in his family as reinforcements for the final showdown, and as they are all involved in law enforcement in some shape or form there's no better back up he could have.
This was Luke’s story and it was good to see him taking life seriously. Abby was not as brave and tenacious as Katie, Judy and Sammy but she was tough in her own timid way and came into her own in the end. We get to meet up with the rest of the Edgar’s family including Costello and it looks like they will be adopting Brianna and Det. Jeffers into the fold as well. This book continues the storyline from Judy and Dave’s book with suspicions on the Senator and it turns out they were right. Abby’s friend uncovers damaging information about human trafficking that the senator and his son are neck deep in before she disappears. Now it’s up to the Edgar’s and Co. to rescue her and other survivors before it’s to late. The book is fast paced, funny at times, with its dose of male ego/Misogyny to get through before a satisfactory conclusion.
This is an ending to the Edgars Family series and I wish there could be more. There are a few non-family member characters who could have stories of their own. I'd like to see what happens to Jeffers and Doyle (last names only so we can avoid spoilers).
This story concerns youngest brother Luke, the mystery man who has a very poorly defined government position. Using Luke's past as a guide, it's probably something to do with computers. An old colleague from Training Days, Abigail Whitson, calls for the local Treasury Agent to assist in what she thinks may be a routine business-related money laundering case. Since it involves her best friend, she wants to be part of the case, but isn't really a field agent. She receives some push-back from Luke, the afore-mentioned local Treasury Agent, and we begin to see the back story of their history together.
This is a good suspenseful tale, and many other family members make an appearance, which is par for the course for the Edgars clan.
Recommended, and please bring on a few more stories, Ms. Ferrell.
Huh. Who knew that Luke, the frat boy of the bunch, could be so intense?
Luke and Abby met five years prior to the beginning of this book and to say that their relationship was rocky would be an understatement. To say that Abby had it all wrong would also be an understatement. This book straightens out a lot of things for her. And for Luke.
I found the Name Game: "Brie-ah-na! Why can't you ever get it right?" to be adorable. You get the answer to that question at the very end.
Frank Costello, who was introduced and adopted into the Edgars family in Matt & Katie's story, is featured prominently in this book. He and Luke have a special relationship that shines through.
I'm not sure that I have a definite favorite in this series, but if I did, this one would be at the top of the list. They're all good, this one lets every member of the family shine in what they do best. I kinda wish there were more siblings.........
I love the Edgars Family Novels! Suzanne Ferrell never disappoints! A powerful story of our times!
Having already read and loved the first three books in the series, I quicky ordered Vanished! Wow, what an electrifying opening. From the first words on the first page the reader was yanked into a brilliant criminal investigation! The storyline was frightening, passionate, intense and disturbing! I always try not to use spoilers or even retell the plot summary. I do however have some triggers that elicit powerful anxiety from me. I never saw the sex trafficing element coming! You've been warned!!!!! I love the author and the characters from the Edgars family! After my anxiety attacks (wine always helps. Lots of wine helps more). I finished this story and appreciated the emense sensitivity that Suzanne brought to a horrific issue! Sobbed through it! The happy ending was enourmously satisfying!
I think each book in this series just keeps getting better! It was great watching Luke find his own HEA after reading about him in the previous books. He is always the jokester, but here we see a more mature serious Luke. Luke shows up at a case he has been called into and he comes upon Abigail (who was in training with him a few years ago) standing in the middle of a crime scene. Abigail was there to see her friend Brie who was in trouble and needed her. But when she arrives she finds blood and Brie missing. I loved watching Luke try to hide his feelings but always protecting Abigail. Seeing Abigail gain her confidence was great, I love strong heroines. The chemistry was off the charts! It is always great to read about past characters and of course they make an appearance! Suzanne nails the suspense/romance genre every time!!
This an awesome book I am loving The Edgars series and was really looking forward to Luke's story and I was not disappointed :) Luke gets sent to help another angent who has been asked by her best friend to look at some strange figures she has found at the company she works for and when Luke arrives and finds Abby in the middle of a terrible mess his protector instincts jump in Abby and Luke did their training together and the spark between them has lasted 5 years. This story is one that will keep you on the edge of your seat as Abby and Luke work hard to solve the case and rescue Brianna before it is too late but they are so drawn to each other it makes it a very sensual and exciting story, with the other family members helping you won't want to put this one down. I loved it :)
What happens when an Edgars family guy finds the woman he's been trying to avoid in the middle of a crime scene? A great story is what happens! Luke Edgars has been avoiding Abigail Whitson ever since they were in the same training class. They're thrown together in unfortunate circumstances and Luke has to deal with all of those feelings from five years ago. Only thing, he wasn't the only one that realized that there was chemistry between them. Abby thought he'd rejected her and his presence in her current situation forces the two of them to examine the past to get through the difficulty they find themselves in now. This is another fast paced story, with twists and turns that keeps you glued to your seat reading chapter after chapter.
This was a harder story for me as the angst from the H was much higher than the other books. I also had to back up a few times to determine what I missed (usually a switch in characters mid-chapter). I could have done less with the abuse of the kidnapped victim as some of the scenes were way too long for my taste. Tough subject matter but I liked the ending. I only wish the man who lost his wife and unborn child in Seized had been notified about the real villains downfall! Hopefully Suzanne can update the book with that information.
Luke gets his turn for his HEA. I loved the dynamic he had with Abigail. They have known one another for a while but haven't seen each other in years. She liked him before and made a move only to get shunned. He has his reasons, but it left her bitter toward him. They are thrust together on a case that puts her life in danger. He gets very protective and it starts to be very clear he has feelings for her. As in the other books, the entire family comes to help its so good! I enjoyed this series so much. Narration was wonderful! Excited for the next book.
Wow. Great book, lots of action and suspense. a great family of law enforcement that stands together no matter what and the women who love them. I am hoping for a story about Marshall Costello, that could be interesting. buy the series you won't regret it I look forward to many more of Ms Ferrell's books
I am in love with the Edgars family and Luke just added to my love affair! The tension and sparks between Luke and Abby keep me both laughing and fanning myself! Suzanne Ferrell is phenomenal in writing romantic suspense! Edge of my chair - pages turning - could not wait to see how it would end! Can't wait for the next book!
there is so much suspense to this story line. Suzanne Ferrell's books get better and better.. I was hoping there would be another book about the U.S. Marshall. I highly recommend you read this series. you'll start reading and won't be able to stop until the books are finished.
This is the first Edgars Family book I've read. I wish I'd started at the beginning of the Series but this book does stand on it's own. (FYI: the plots of the previous books are given away.)
Interesting mystery, love interests were brief but enjoyable, very much incidental to main plot though. Nice HEA at the end.
When women go missing Luke Edgars goes hunting. With some help from friends and family he breaks a slave ring. Suzanne Ferrell continues in her action romance novels. This family is one that opens itself to solving the most dangerous cases without a thought but they all seem to find the one thing they need to make their life complete, love!
I accidentally read this one before the previous one. No wonder it felt like I was missing something at times! Still a very good story, although the subject matter was very dark. Glad that all of the bad guys were caught and punished at the end. Very satisfying
Just love these books the characters are great. The whole family comes to the rescue when one is in trouble. This are such wonderful books. I have just got the other one. Thank you for writing such great books Susanne Ferrell
An amazing story of Luke and Abby as the hunt for her friend Brianna. Friends and family join the hunt exposing more than they expected. Terrific book, hard to put down.
I really like this book. I read the first book in the series and didn’t think I was going to finish the series because it wasn’t that well done. But with each consecutive books, it seems to get better and the character developments seem to grow. I’m glad I stuck with it.
