February,1944 WWII Amidst heavy fighting on the peninsula, the Italian government surrendered five months earlier to the Allies, leaving the upper portion of the country under German control.
The flight nurse in hiding. In this dangerous world, the lone survivor of a downed evacuation plane, flight nurse, Grace Courtland is hiding as a nun in a mountain monastery. After another plane is shot down in the area, an injured intelligence officer is brought to the monastery. The spy-chaser sent on a mission. When Neptune’s Five team is called to take on another secret mission in Italy, Naval engineer Teddy “Boston” Green, fluent in the local Italian dialect because of his grandmother, isn’t surprised he’s been assigned to retrieve an Army officer from behind enemy lines. When he steps into the cave where the officer is hiding, he’s shocked to also find, Grace, the woman he’d walked away from to join the Navy.
A traitor among the mountains. As the group navigates the dangerous terrain, evading both the Nazis and the Allied bombings, they must also contend with a traitor among the partisans. Will Boston and Grace escape to safety or remain trapped behind enemy lines?
USA Today bestselling author, Suzanne Ferrell discovered romance novels in her aunt’s hidden stash one summer as a teenager. From that moment on she knew two things: she loved romance stories and someday she'd be writing her own. Her love for romances has only grown over the years. It took her a number of years and a secondary career as a nurse to finally start writing her own stories.
The author of 20 novels and an Amazon best-seller for both her series, the Edgars Family Novels and the Westen series, Suzanne's books have been finalists in the National Reader's Choice Awards--SEIZED (2013) and VANISHED (2014). Suzanne was also a double finalist in the Romance Writers of America's 2006 Golden Heart with her manuscripts, KIDNAPPED (Long Contemporary Category) and HUNTED (Romantic Suspense).
Currently working on more books for her Edgars Family series (KIDNAPPED, HUNTED, SEIZED, VANISHED, EXPOSED, UNMASKED and SHANGHAIED, part of a pre-WWII spy-chaser spin-off series) and the Westen Series (Close To Home, Close To The Edge, Close To The Fire, Close To Christmas, Close To The Mistletoe, Close To Santa’s Heart and Close To Danger), Suzanne hopes to bring readers more passionate and suspenseful books to fill your reading moments. Suzanne's sexy stories, whether they are her on the edge of your seat romantic suspense or the heartwarming small town stories or historical suspense novels, will keep you thinking about her characters long after their Happy Ever After is achieved.
We definitely had to wait quite a bit for the next book in this series but it surely was worth the wait! Trapped is set during WWII and Suzanne takes us back to the guys of Neptune Five, a group working under the supervision of the Allied Command.
Teddy 'Boston' Green is one of these members. He joined the forces with his best friend Mick hoping they'd be serving together but they got separated due to each having their own special skills. Teddy became an engineer and an explosives expert. He joined Neptune's Five and sees his fellow team members as his family.
Grace Courtland, is Mick's younger sister and knows Teddy since childhood. They've always been good friends and has always had a crush on him. She always wanted to be a nurse and the death of her brother made her join the Army Nurse Corps to help wounded soldiers.
On one of her missions the airplane she's in gets gunned down but fortunately she is saved by the partisans and brought to a monastery where the nuns hide her from view. With the arrival of an injured intellegence officer and it appears there's a traitor amongst the partisans, things get too dangerous however and she manages to send a message to Allied Command requesting the help of Neptune's Five, and in particular Teddy.
The team sets out on a dangerous mission to retrieve the officer who the wondering who sent the message. When Teddy finds out it's Grace, he jumps into over protection mode and feelings they thought were gone, flair back up. From then on it's almost non stop action while they're on the run to get themselves in safety and stay out the hands of the German troups.
So far I've loved every book in this series and Trapped was no different. The story kept me glued to my Kindle and I can't wait to who's story is up next.
*A kind thank you to the author and Bookfunnel for this ARC. I'm leaving an honest voluntary review.**
There was a large wait between books but it was so worth it. We finally go back to the Neptune Five guys working for Allied Command. Teddy is an engineer and explosives expert. Grace is Mick’s younger sister and known Teddy forever. Teddy will stop at nothing to rescue her. Will they finally admit the truth or will the enemy get to them first.
This is another intense and exciting Neptune adventure. Get ready for a wild ride.
The Neptune Five undercover team is sent to recover Colonel Tarkington a member of the Army intelligence group shot down in Nazi controlled Italy. The Colonel has important information necessary to help with the Allied forces war efforts and invasion.
The Nazis who occupy the town of Meltrina, Italy are searching for downed flyers. Their torture methods are extremely brutal. The reader cannot help getting emotionally involved in the plot.
Suzanne Farrell’s newest book TRAPPED of the Neptune's Five series is exceptionally spine-tingling, intense and exciting.
Another rip-roaring adventure this time in WWII in occupied Italy. Our favorite crew is back and this time it’s Boston who discovers his old crush, the brave and canny nurse Grace, hiding in a monastery. WARNING: The Nazi in charges’s evil acts include torturing and murdering nuns (offstage).
Strength and integrity in our Neptune Five as well as the woman they meet. In this case Boston and his best friends younger sister. The tale takes place in Italy and the Nazi's are running rampant, so is the resistance. Emotional plot with heart wrenching horrific moments (off page - referred too). Thankfully there are moments of humor. There is loss and there is a HEA for some. Suzanne Ferrell is one of the few authors who can take me back to this time and keep me invested, while also showing the depth and depravity of mankind. Thank you for the advanced copy. I freely share my honest thoughts and opinions. I recommend starting with book 1 you want to get to know all the characters of Neptunes Five. #Trapped #Neptune'sFive #SuzanneFerrel #BookSirens
Flight nurse Grace's plane is shot down behind enemy lines. She is rescued by the local resistance and is sheltered in local monastery. Her childhood friend and his team are sent to rescue her & several others. Fast paced & suspenseful, this well written book set in WWII Italy keeps you engaged until the very last page. Some graphic & horrific scenes as the Nazis try to locate them as they flee to safety .
