In order make a girly magazine more respectable, Playboy had interviews with "news makers" and famous persons every month starting in the early 60s. This selection covers 1962-1979, in 700 pages. About 30 people are interviewed. The slant is uniformly Liberal/left. Timothy Leary, MLK, Malcom X, and Castro get tossed Softballs, while John Wayne and Anita Bryant are debated.
Most interesting/entertaining interviews: Mel Brooks, Castro, George Rockwell, Albert Speer, Brando, and Nabokov.
Least Interesting - Daniel P. Moynihan, Jerry Brown, Jimmy carter, Anita Bryant, Germaine Greer, Walter Cronkite.

Playboy Interviews offers an insightful look into the lives of historic figures such as John Lenon & Yoko Ono, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., Fidel Castro, Miles Davis and more.

Wonderful longform interviews, a format I always enjoy. Tennessee Williams, Joseph Heller, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Dolly Parton, and Edward Teller were the highlights for me.
