Long, dark hair. Dewy, khol-rimmed eyes. Ripe young lips just made for kissing? Guys like that are dime a dozen. Wild Bill likes a little edge on his playmates, and Michael's got the whole package going on--plus a loaded gun in his leather jacket, and an unquenchable obsession with vampires. Michael's back, and he's got a few new tricks up his sleeve. Hopefully the latest addition to his arsenal doesn't include a wooden stake with Wild Bill's name on it. But anything can happen in the dark?

Hello flip POV!
He was vamp-heroin and he wanted to know f he tasted good. Unbelievable. "Look, you're great eye candy and all, but I can tell you'd be way too high-maintenance for someone like me. Besides, you've got that pointy hobby of yours. And I've got my special diet - humanitarianism."
The first story in the Channeling Morpheus series was told first person from Michael's POV. He's a twenty-one year old goth kid turned ammeter vampire hunter. His best friend was killed by a group of vampires, and Michael set out to avenge her death. In the process of tracking down one of her killers, Ambrose Grey, Michael found himself entangled in someone else's vendetta.

Wild Bill.

Wild Bill was a twitchy, aggressively sexual fellow who wound up saving Michael's life that night. at the end of book one, Michael was left at a bus station, coming down from the rohypnol, with Wild Bill on the brain.

Imagine my surprise when I started this story to discover that Wild Bill held the sole POV. What an incredibly fascinating character. Turns out, Ambrose Grey was the Vampire who turned Wild Bill into a bloodsucker. He's been hunting down Grey with singular focus and Michael just so happened to wander into the scene.

Michael... Who Wild Bill can't stop thinking about.
Michael... Vampire heroin.
Michael... Who managed to track down Wild Bill and follow him into a feeding frenzy at a park in Minnesota.

The first thing Wild Bill has to do is get Michael away from the pack of hungry bloodsuckers who hunt willing prey in the park. The second thing he has to do is get the fuck away from this goth kid before he becomes completely attached...

Unfortunately, Michael is a temptation impossible to resist.
Luring Wild Bill with his body and blood...

Seems Michael set out to seduce Wild Bill, and when the Vampire's control shatters, we're treated to a gloriously sexy episode set in the dark woods...

The first book in this series was wonderfully hot.
This book was on fucking fire.

Wild Bill's deliciously deviant POV was an absolute pleasure. I can't wait for more!

Read as part of Channeling Morpheus for Scary Mary Ebook Box Set

Bill cracks me the hell up.

It was real sweet, except that he'd drugged me and ridden me to within an inch of my life, and I was still so high I was paralyzed and mute. But other than that, I guess it was pretty romantic.

First of all: JUST LOOK AT THAT COVER!!

THAT ladies and gents is Wild Bill, and he is my new obsession! He's a vampire and he likes to fuck. At this point he has the potential to be the most gorgeous, most addictive, most forceful vampire I've ever read. I'm already fiercely possessive of him and ...jealous! Oh boy, this is ridiculous; when he mentions sex with others so casually I burn with jealousy! Totally pathetic, I know ...but it is what it is, I'm enthralled. He is that, "incandescent".

Okay, my new obsession aside. I'm a tad disappointed. I wasn't ready for Wild bill's POV just yet. I would have liked to have hung onto a few of my assumptions a bit longer, but it's okay it doesn't quite detract from his enigmatic charisma, so all is not lost and I'm sure he has many secrets to reveal. Sex once again dominates this short but Michael turns the tables and scores a point which I LOVED. That boy is so freaking smart!

So onward with this delicious cat and mouse game!

I pretty much think JCP could write anything and I would read it (exhibit A: Turbulence). I think she could write anything and I would find a character who makes me cackle with glee (exhibit B: Crash from Psycop). I think I will probably never get enough of her book and this story is exactly why: hot, funny, with fan-freaking-tastic characterization, a well thought out narrative, and a complete-feeling ending which leaves me wanting MOAR!

Sigh. Happiness is 8 books + the shorts left to read in this series. sadness is knowing I'll probably be done tomorrow.

yes, but i don't think you heard me: i said it's got wild bill in it.

not sure the experiment in shifting POV to wicked willy was successful; he's better as an enigma stuffed full of cock than he is with all his motivations laid bare inside his mind.

the condom thing is getting a little ridiculous. wanna make out? hang on, let me just get my dental dam and purell.

About this Story
Wild Bill—what a character. I never had any plans to write from his point of view. It just happened that way.

Initially, Channeling Morpheus was supposed to be a one-off that began and ended with Payback, but the original publisher thought it would make a great series, and so I began trying to figure out how the heck I’d proceed. My tendency would normally be to pick a single protagonist and write the whole series from their point of view. It’s harder that way, because you need to work in a lot of backstory and subtext around the very strict point of view, but it’s also very rewarding.

I’m not sure if I sensed that Michael wasn’t really a leading man, or if I just wanted to see if being in Wild Bill’s head was as do-able as having Michael hear him talk. I knew that if I did write from a place of Bill, it couldn’t sound like it was coming from the head of any old person. The voice needed to be perfect. And I was scared. What if I couldn’t pull it off? What if the eloquently trashy turns of phrase sounded great in my mind, but fell flat on the page? Plus, wasn’t I cheating, in a sense, if I dipped into Bill’s mind and actually showed his perspective? It seemed like cheating, like I should be able to convey what he’s thinking and feeling through the filter of Michael and, if I were doing my job as a writer correctly, showing just that part of him would be enough.

In the end, though, I decided that whether it was cheating or not to dip into Bill’s perspective, I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could write like he thought. I don’t remember having a lot of false starts trying to get into a Wild Bill state of mind. Once I decided to do it, I just buckled down and wrote it like it sounded in my head, and hoped for the best.

One thing that surprised me was that the Wild Bill fans preferred to read from his point of view. That doesn’t make sense to me, because if you’re reading from Wild Bill’s head, Michael becomes the focus of the attention. I’d think Bill would seem sexier through Michael’s eyes, in Michael’s point of view, when Bill is the object of attraction. But no. The Bill-fans want to be Bill. Just goes to show how much more alchemy is at play here than logic.

As I polish and typeset this second edition, I’m struck by the pull of their lust for each other. I think they both get that nothing good can come of hooking up…but when the urge is too strong to resist, there’s no stopping it. I think that dynamic carried through the rest of the series beautifully, that they’re both so needy for each other, and both so full of broken places inside that no one can really heal, that there’s no way it’s going to end up with them picking out curtains. And I’m glad. Wild Bill would be sorely tempted to steal Michael’s piece and put it to his temple if he ever seriously considered picking out curtains with anybody. Even Michael.

Bill's POV in this one gives us a very different picture of who he is, and why Michael appeals to him, that Michael would lead us to believe. Again, a very sexy short story, but with a backstory that moves the plot forward, and a look at Wild Bill that makes him a far more interesting character than I expected. These are very short in story content, but hot and addictive. On to the next one.

Rating for the whole series.

At first I though this was just going to be one huge sex scene but JCP turned things around. Being inside Wild Bill's head was great.

I'm listening to the 7:44 hrs audiobook box Channeling Morpheus for Scary Mary including novella #1-#5:

Payback (Channeling Morpheus, #1) by Jordan Castillo Price Vertigo (Channeling Morpheus, #2) by Jordan Castillo Price Manikin (Channeling Morpheus, #3) by Jordan Castillo Price Tainted (Channeling Morpheus, #4) by Jordan Castillo Price Rebirth (Channeling Morpheus, #5) by Jordan Castillo Price = Channeling Morpheus for Scary Mary Ebook Box Set (MM Paranormal Horror Romance) by Jordan Castillo Price

Payback was a first short teaser to Michael and Wild Bill's future adventures. This second Vertigo was about their second meeting and still mostly an hilarious amusing PWP shortie. I'm liking this smart and clever 21 years old youngster Michael more and more. The vampire Wild Bill is awesome cute too.

*********************************************************

Once again perfect narrated by Gomez Pugh, his voice is mesmerizing. He is going to do this to a great listening for me.

There are all in all all 10 full serial novellas in this 'Channeling Morpheus/Sweet Oblivion' series. ~ Read my full Channeling Morpheus for Scary Mary review for the first five parts later on.

I LIKE - and I just want to start the next part

This time we get Wild Bill's point of view and we finally go behind his bold and seemingly careless façade.

Michael has been looking for him and he has finally found him. Wild Bill hasn't forgotten the night they spent together and he doesn't want to repeat it. He recognises Michael is different from anyone else, that he's truly special and he struggles not to fall for him. While reading the first book in the series Payback I wanted to know everything about Wild Bill's past and it's interesting that in this book the words about his past are spoken by Michael, whose fragility is incredibly deceitful. It gives you a measure of their chemistry, of how deep the understanding of each other is.

The way their passion/obsession is described is amazing and Wild Bill's thoughts are truly expressed through his fierce love-making (even if I think he would disagree with this term).

I'm going to read the next installment Manikin, I want to know what happens next.

Another hot encounter between Bill and Michael. This time from Bill's POV.

I liked the previous book better, but I was still glued to my seat with this one.
Bill, the bad boy vampire and Michael, the smart but very young vampire hunter. Together they were explosive and hot. I found it hilarious the way they were constantly trying to outsmart each other.

"He curled against my side with his face resting on my shoulder. It was real sweet, except that he'd drugged me and ridden me to within an inch of my life, and I was still so high I was paralyzed and mute. But other than that, I guess it was pretty romantic."

Well shit! I hated the first book but I loved this one! I was a bit confused in the beginning before I figured out that this story was told from Wild Bill's POV instead of Michael's like in the first book.

Michael and Wild Bill were hot and dirty together I have to read the next one now!
