As the years roll by Ashleigh has a fabulous life, a wealthy husband and the perfect house, but she struggles with imposter syndrome, while Remy leads a simple, yet sometimes, hard life and always in the shadow of her twin. They both miss the closeness they once had, but has too much happened for them to get back to where they once were?
Life as Planned is the latest womens fiction by the inimitable Queen of Drama herself. Prowse, once again, takes an idea and turns it into an emotional and relatable story that will resonate with many people. It's a tale of split second decision making, of choices we make whether they be the right or wrong one and how we deal with the fallout that will follow, and how the people around us deal with it when the truth is finally revealed. This is, as always, a beautifully written story following the lives of Remy and Ashleigh starting in the seventies and flowing through the decades. I grew up in this same era and life seemed so simple then, how I sometimes wish I could turn back the clock, but life is what you make it, governed by the choices you make and this is what the twins came to realise as their lives moved on. An intense, compelling read which brought a tear to my eye on many occasions, in particular the ending which had so many memories wrapped up in it. This is another heartwarming read from an author whose stories always make me feel like I've just slipped into that favourite cardigan and wrapped myself in love and warmth.

She then meets Drew Devlin, a very handsome, charming and wealthy doctor and she is determined to make him hers, nothing and nobody is going to stand in her way to becoming the doctors wife, but is Drew as perfect as he seems, what is the secret he is hiding and is Fern as innocent as she seems?
The Doctor is the fifth book in the Doctors Wife series by Hurst and is a prequel to the series telling the story of how Fern and Drew met from both their perspectives. Fern believes she deserves a better life than the one she has, how she goes about securing her new life leaves a lot to be desired, but you have to hand it to her, her nerve and determination is exemplary! This is a fast paced read with short chapters, just how I like them and I was drawn in from the first page to this tense and twisty thriller, which kept me on the edge of my seat right to that final, well executed twist. Another great read in this series.

Not just worried about her dad she's also concerned about seeing her sister Victoria again, they were very close as children but an indiscretion tore them apart and she's been living abroad ever since, with only the occasional strained visit back to see her parents. Gathered round their fathers' bed, united in their concern, they begin to reminisce about their childhood when he opens his eyes and utters something that makes no sense to Victoria, Natalie though is aware of the secret their parents have been hiding all this time, but even she doesn't know the full story and it's about to blow their world apart.
The Lie She Told is the latest domestic drama by Robinson and, true to form, from the first page I was hooked. This is a fast paced tale of secrets, kept with the best of intentions to protect all of the family, but everyone knows what happens when you try to cover up something to protect another, it comes back to bite you, twice as hard. This multi layered story is packed with drama throughout and, as the layers are peeled back, chapter by chapter so are the secrets, and there are so many of them in this book that I was left reeling at each of them. This is a tense and, at times, emotionally charged read from an author that is a master of the dramatic, keeping me turning the pages of every book that she's written and always leaves me feeling quite bereft that I've reached the end, but chomping at the bit waiting to see what she delivers next!

Now they are jetting off to Zante for a week in the sun with Nicky's daughters, sixteen year old Lola, eleven year old Betsy and Sabine's son, seventeen year old Elias, but tensions begin to rise between the two moms when Lola and Elias start to get closer, then on the day they are due to fly back Lola is in tears and won't tell her mom what's happened and Nicky fears the worst, accusing Elias of doing something that fractures the relationship of the two best friends and their families.
The Lies Our Children Tell is the latest family drama by Timoney, telling the story of two moms, who are best friends and their children and the fallout that happens after their holiday to picturesque Zante. Nicky is very overprotective of her two girls, which at times was overbearing, but you could understand why after the coercive controlling behaviour from her ex husband Julian. Sabine, on the other hand, was so laid back she was horizontal with her parenting skills and Elias just seemed to have fended for himself during his childhood, but being a parent doesn't come with a manual and everyone is different. This was a fast paced story covering some very delicate subjects and, as always, the author dealt with these sympathetically. I really felt for Nicky and everything she had been through and as for Julian, well I couldn't put into print what I'd really like to say about him, he was a very unlikeable character. Once again this author has created a tense and emotional read that showcases how far some parents will go to protect their children.
