Set in a small town located on a fault line, Sid has always known magic was locked below the ground. What she didn’t expect was to be thrown into a magical apocalypse when one of the guardians of the fault line is killed. Tasked with the job of finding her missing brother, she teams up with remaining guardians to close the fault lines, find her brother, and save her town.
I really enjoyed this witty and fun read. Our characters were enjoyable to read about and the ya romance was so sweet! I highly recommend this read for anyone who loves paranormal, zombies, and characters you want to root for.

Everline has sworn her life to protecting against the monstrous vespertine and she does so without the usual magic that the wardens of her station possess. After one too many strange occurrences, Everline decides to investigate the vespertines and what is happening in the moorland. The only problem? If she wants passage through the land, she must team up with one of the vespertine and offer him something in return. The only thing worse than allowing a vespertine to feed from you is falling in love with one.
This was a captivating fantasy with a focus on the romance as opposed to the plot. While that aspect might not appease everyone, I enjoyed it! We have some goth warrior girls wielding bone and blood magic in a vast wasteland and a monstrous boy leading them to their friend. What's not to obsess over?

Now, four years later, they must go back to that cave and finish the game if they want any chance of finding their lost friend. This book is Jumanji meets I Know What You Did Last Summer. This was such an enjoyable and quick read! I have seen so much hype for Wings Once Cursed and Bound and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to listen to an advanced audio copy. Our narrator, Cindy Kay, is also one of my favorite narrators so that didn't hurt either.
While I did really like this one, I do feel like it may be a bit miss-marketed. This read is definitely an urban fantasy with magic woven into our character's everyday life. Peeraphan is a dancer located in Seattle. When she mistakenly puts on a pair of cursed shoes, she is ensnared into a world of supernatural creatures. Our story takes place over 24 hours and is filled with high stakes, suspense, and a bit of romance. I would have enjoyed learning more about the world and Peeraphan's abilities before being thrust into the conflict, but I do appreciate the enthralling way the plot moves forward.

The Waking Forest tells two stories in one. In our world, Rhea is plagued by nightmares and the only one who seems to understand is the boy in the shadows. In the magical woods, we follow the forest witch who grants wishes to children in need and spends her nights speaking with a fox who tells her stories.
This is a story of magic, love, loyalty, and the things that we see in the dark. When our stories collide, the adventure begins, and I promise you'll be rooting for our main characters as much as I was.

Sophie promises she did not kill her former friend, current mean girl, and TikTok star Eva Flores. I mean, she was horrible and totally deserved it but Sophie DID NOT DO IT. Told through a series of interviews, flash backs, and different POVs, this is a not to miss YA mystery that will leave you guessing until the very end.
If you have the chance, I highly recommend the audio version. We have a full cast of characters that will have you in suspense right from the start.
Read this if you like: - social media as a focused plot - interview style storytelling - plot points woven through flash backs - so many twists and turns...seriously...you won't guess where this is going - realistic, modern portrayal of teenage characters - suspense/mystery but not scary
