I tried this book as it had some good reviews, and the premise of time travel always interests me. In this version of time travel, there is a portal from 2011 back to 1958 (and back again), and each time you go back it 'resets'. The protagonist, a teacher with no ties in the present, goes back to try and prevent the Kennedy assassination, with the underlying premise being that this will vastly improve the present. Unfortunately, Stephen King as a writer without any horror or scary bits is mostly boring. I haven't read any Stephen King for about 20 years - I vaguely remember his books being OK, but not particularly well written. When they are also mostly boring, like this one, then it is not a good combination. Not a completely terrible book, but can't recommend it. Could have been so much more. For a book with a similar premise, but with a better plot, characters and writing, try 'Time and Time Again' by Ben Elton.
