it was amazing

Let me start off my review by mentioning that this book was one of the most cathartic, touching, carefully written book out of those few books I've read. I cried so much while reading the last pages until my friends were around me, comforting.
The story the book carried was beautiful and ever so sad, but that was not the actual reason I cried. I cried because i was thinking of my own family when reading. A month ago when I was reading this book, I was in a very big fight with my mother over what time I should wake up at weekends. The fight went a bit overheated and I was eventually kicked out of the house. With deep resentment, I started reading the last part, and found myself shedding tears feeling sorry for me and my mother.
Conor O’Malley is a 13-year-old in the UK, who life gave so much on a little boy like himself. He gets picked on at school, his dad has ran away with a new family in America, and he’s been haunted by some creepy nightmare, where his world collapses and everything just blacks out. But more importantly, it’s the situation with his mother. She has cancer, and her condition is clearly worsening. In his depth of despair, an unknown monster rampages into Conor's life and provides him with an awkward challenge, that the creature will tell Conor three fables, and then Conor will have to tell the monster his own story.
I will have to think about the three stories throughout my life but the truth Conor told the monster was what I understood immediately. This book gave me a lesson on hoe thinking something has its reasons and that you don't need to be sorry for it.
I want to thank myself for choosing this book and give a special thanks to my teacher who selected this awesome book for us to read.
