There've always been certain things that annoyed me in this series (people repeating stuff at least three times to different characters, people being too polite all the time to name at least two), but this time the rest of it didn't make it easier to get through this. Faux Paw is the worst so far.
And if you add that for some weird reason the author decided it's a good idea to add (view spoiler)[ a bit of jealousy into the mix when it comes to Kathleen and Marcus, I knew I wouldn't like any of it. Marcus went on a couple of dates with his colleague Hope who, although a likeable character, seems to still carry that torch judging by a subtle look she gave him at one point. It doesn't play any freaking role in the story at all! Authors should know that if you show a couple being happy, there is no need to create situations where they have to tell us they are fine. We can see that from the freaking 'being happy' without third wheels and stuff. And that's not all of it either. There's a guy interested in Kathleen. It also doesn't go anywhere, but you know, now we know Marcus and Kathleen are fine. I freaking hate this third person trope. (hide spoiler)]

The mystery is lukewarm at best. The moment (view spoiler)[ it was mentioned that one of the drawings from the exhibition was of Native American origin, I knew who might be the killer. Even the red herring of a mysterious burglar wasn't successful. (hide spoiler)]

The town itself hasn't lost its charm, though.
