Alright, I must admit, suspense novels are truly not my cup of tea. Likewise, I must admit this story was so riveting that I stayed up all night, finishing sometime around 5:30 a.m. As I closed the book, my instinct was to go out in the hallway of my apartment building and pitch it off the fire escape. (In fairness to the author and the genre, I absolutely loathed 'Gone Girl' and I think I gave that one to the library.) So, I was dissecting it as I was reading. I can suspend my disbelief with the best of them, but I thought this one was really stretching it. None of the characters seemed 'real' enough to me to feel for them (which, actually, is just as well.) Most of the reviews for this book have been five stars, so I'm thinking if you like the genre, you may like this book. As for me, I'm going back to the biographies....

I didn’t like gone girl either. I found it ironic they mentioned it in the book! 🤪
