This is an endearing story about bear and the care and love his friends have for him and he for them. It helps children learn about 'being sick' and what to do about it and that it feels terrible but does not last forever. I enjoyed the rhymes and rhythms of the words in this gentle, relatable story.

The rich illustrations are expressive with interesting little details to find and are a perfect accompaniment to the text. They are beautifully done with a spectacular colour palette that suits both the story and the natural setting of the animals.

I will read other Bear books.
