While it succeeds in illustrating the very depressive atmosphere of Lovecraft's horror stories somewhere in the mid of this volume art becomes so abstract that it is very difficult to follow what actually goes on.
Mix of realistic and weird landscapes and creatures from the first half slowly transforms into weird art where everything is so mixed, dimmed, dark .. formless that it becomes truly an achievement to figure out what is going on.
For me this was a minus for the collection. First half of stories is very good and engaging but second half was a letdown.
Give it a try if you like weird stories but I would advise to check some of the panels just to see if art is something you will enjoy.
