This isn't a dystopian novel. Do not go into it expecting a Handmaid's Tale book. It isn't that, but it is equally important.
This is a story about class in America and how income equality will destroy us all, if we aren't careful. It's about haves and have-nots and what we will do to protect what's ours and what we think should be ours.
This is definitely one of my favorite books from 2019. Slow, character driven, without the tropes that some literary fictions rely on. No one is all good or all bad (except for maybe Hitler, I guess) and we've got no hero or real antihero in this novel.
