Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove, #1)

3 stars
I’m not one to write reviews, but I feel compelled to on this occasion. On a more positive note, I really enjoyed the setting of the book and the cold and dark atmosphere thats present throughout, perfect for an autumn read.
I originally gave it 2.5 stars, but decided to round it up to 3 stars instead, because it was by no means a bad book and anything lower than that classifies as bad for me.
I just found it really predictable, a bit too predictable. The “slow-burn” romance as advertised by some, wasn’t at all slow, at least not what I expected. The male protagonist seemed to be smitten with her from the start.
I liked the concept of the witches and eerie vibe they were portraying in the books, but found the outcome a bit dull when we did finally get some action at the end.
