While I wouldn’t say this book is absolute garbage, unlike many of the people with unnecessarily harsh reviews, I still find this book lacking. I did not like or connect with the characters, the plot felt slow and cliché, and I just couldn’t enjoy this because it just felt like such a drag to read. However, I will have to say that Maggie’s writing is beautiful and so captivating that it was hard to realize the problems I had with this book at times because I was just so into her writing.
Now, on the topic of Maggie Stiefvater, PLEASE read the Raven Cycle because she’s created such fantastic characters and even though the first book is a little slow and confusing it’s such a great introduction to the characters and the series just gets better with every book.

"So far, kinda cliche but as a debut novel it’s not awful at all. And as a big fan of The Raven Cycle... I can’t hate this book."
