really liked it

I'll be honest, I wasn't loving this book at first because I wasn't a huge fan of all the writing choices (the numerous Jonas Brothers and tumblr references, time jumps, and just writing style in the first half) but the bigger message of this novel made all of that pale in comparison and just not matter as much. This book is important, these issues of police brutality and racial inequality need to be talked about, and we especially need black people to be able to use their own voices to tell their stories. More of this in publishing please!

- TW for police violence, murder, racism. Also want to acknowledge some nasty slut shaming towards sex workers and women who dress "promiscuously"-
