Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove, #1)

This is one of the most ridiculous books I've read this year and it's only January. It has such an absurd setup for the plot, clumsy characterization, and the humor lands very poorly (I cringed every time the main character would loudly sing "Big Titty Liddy"). I did like the 1 sex scene though.

I don't think I've seen a single actual person like this book. I want to know who these mystery people are who are rating it 4 and 5 stars.

I am sorry you did not had a good time with it. For me, this book was a very fun, guilty pleasure entertainment, but I completely get the dislike towards it.
CINDY I love you I thought I was the only one!! This book is trash and Reid is essentially just a maga boy so I could not consciously enjoy the romance bc of it. Tragic.
please make a video about this i am BEGGING. what was with all the red herrings that disappeared?? and she looked for that ring for so long only to NEVER use it??? the most interesting character just walked away from the plot??? i have so many questions about this book's high rating
LOL this was one of my favorite books of 2019 and so many people are hating it and pointing out all of the problematic content I missed. Just let me be trash okay! *KKW ugly crying face*
BIG TITTY LIDDY... I died at that. You did a great service to others out there reading this so we didnt have to.... you the real MVP
So glad to hear this!! I absolutely hated this as well all but the smut. I grit my teeth every time I see someone raving about it so I don’t spread my hate hahahahaha
At least you liked the sex scene I mean 2019 was all about how we needed to get LAID so....2020 started off with some type of bang.
I'm so glad I saw u review this Ive had my eye on this for the cool cover without looking at other reviews and barely glancing at what it's about I am definitely staying away from this one.
No hard feelings :) It was a good read for me, went by quickly. I'd love to see your review though, could change my mind.
I like your review. I think I just read this book at the perfect time. I was in the middle of a reading slump and needed a trash quick paced YA romance to kick my butt back in gear. Looking back, it was far from perfect, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
I'm with Allison - I think I was okay with this book because I had just finished a really deep read and needed something light and fun. However, I'm not sure I'll make it through the whole series (especially if it's longer than a trilogy).

Thank you for the review, I almost put it in the list because if it's rating. May the power be with you
I read this last month and didn't have the energy to roast and review at the time... I guess today is the day!
Wait- There is a sex scene??? I thought it was a YA. Ugh it's a big turn off for me. Is it really explicit or not? ><

Its pretty explicit. Why it isn't marketed New Adult I will never understand. I can't imagine my 14 year old sister reading that scene... and I am pretty chill when it comes to mature or "risque" topics in YA lit.

I mean... *gestures wildly at all the Sarah J Maas books in the YA section*
This was my favorite book of 2019, but this is the most hilarious review I've ever seen. 😂😂😂 I can't stop wheezing.
THANK YOU. Idk why everyone is shitting themselves over this book. It had terrible character development so choppy and the romance didn't hit at all for me.
I'm so happy that there are finally other people who found this book to be a sloppy mess, and not the good kind
Oh, the humor in this book was absolutely painful. I also cringed every time "Big Titty Liddy" was mentioned.
Honestly, I think they book was very good. Maybe I have an awful sense of humor, or maybe it's because I'm a sarcastic person, but I didn't think the humor was all that bad, or the plot was absurd.
I watched ur review, and lemme tell you, it’s peak comedy. Funniest thing I’ve ever watched. I guess I’m not rly qualified to say anything about this book cause I haven’t read it, but if your review rings true, the book is hilariously terrible.
