Daughter of the Tigris

This book follows The President's Gardens and started off with the same off-beat storyline of Iraq starting in 1993. Saddam Hussein has been captured, US forces have installed an interim government and various factions lobby, lie and apply force to get into the bucket of money available for rebuilding projects.
The first third of the book stays strong to the storyline in the Pres Garden with Qisma now searching for her father's body. She travels with her new husband, has a great debate about women with a Sheik who also explains how to make money in the new Iraq. Then the story kind of meanders with various characters getting married, kidnapped, or both. I wasn't sure whether the author was positioning for a third book but if he does I hope he gets back onto the more interesting storylines of how Iraq operates in the post Hussein world.
