Truman the tortoise and his Sarah have a nice, peaceful life but things down below his window, which overlooks a busy city street, look a little scary. Sarah leaves from time to time but she's always back soon. One day things are a bit different and then he sees Sarah get on a big bus and is gone for longer than ever before. Truman decides he has to go after her, even though he has to be very brave to do so. Off he goes, across the apartment which has never looked so big.
This is a very cute book about a tortoise determined to be reunited with his human. He goes about it as only a little tortoise could, very slowly. Truman doesn't get very far but the story still does a lovely job of showing his love for his Sarah. This is a cute and soft story. And a great one about going to school for the first time (though it's from a very different perspective than usual).
