⇢The Pot
Definitely one of my favourite Sarah Dessen books. I loved the way all of the subplots wove together throughout the story and the resolutions of all of the smaller conflicts were so satisfying. I also found the development of the romance to be one of the best in all of her books!

One of the main criticisms of this book from what I’ve seen is the general dislike of Auden’s character, and I absolutely have to disagree. Auden’s character arc was honestly one of the best from Sarah Dessen’s books in my opinion, which is really saying something, and I really just found her to be a complex and interesting character. I liked her right from the start even when she had been a little more unreasonable, and I certainly loved her by the end of the story after all the growth she’d experienced.

On the other hand, I didn’t find Eli quite as memorable. He wasn’t a bad character— just not show-stopping or anything that I haven’t seen before.

⇢The Side Characters
The friend group of the main characters in this book wasn’t that strong, but Auden’s stepmom Auden? I LOVED HER. She took a little while to grow on me and I would never have expected myself to like her type of character, but it was just so easy to root for her and want her to succeed. 100% one of my favourite Sarah Dessen side characters. I also liked Maggie, though!
