Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove, #1)

Look: Serpent & Dove is one of those books that objectively aren't good but that you still cannot help but enjoy. Let me elaborate.
The general plot and the pacing are fine and so are the characters. However, the writing is average at best and the world building is somewhere between confusing and straight up irritating. I absolutely agree with everyone who said that reading this novel felt like reading a fan fiction. Then again, this might be what makes it so entertaining. Some scenes had me cringe and roll my eyes into the back of my head, but there are also quite a few scenes laced with tropes I love in the fan fiction I tend to enjoy. While I definitely understand why people would dislike this book for its plethora of flaws, I personally had a pretty good time reading it. I already ordered Blood & Honey and plan to make it one of my very next reads. No regrets.
