Anna 1995 Chicago.
Bennett 2012 San Francisco.
They weren't supposed to meet.
They shouldn't have fallen in love.
And yet.. they did.
Time Between Us wasn't half bad. A bumpy start combined with a nothing-happening middle and never-explained ending would normally result in less than 3 stars but this time around, I got to admit it's a rather sweet story and despite the fact that it's mostly about star-crossed lovers, it managed to resonate within me (a bit).
How did they meet?
Bennett meets Anna while he's trying to find his older sister. He accidentally left her in the past when he travelled back in time with her to a concert to the year before he was born. He got bumped back into the present while his sister stayed there. (because Bennett hadn't been alive in that year, he can't travel there. Nor can he go to his future. If he does, he disappears after a short time. Don't ask me why he went there in the first place, when he had known that before, I don't have a clue.)
So he travels to the farest past he can go to, the date he was born and searches for her. And here is when Anna gets into the picture and the backstory goes to hell, the sister conveniently forgotten to make a place for Bennett, Anna and their little love story.
The relationship drama
I wish Anna and Bennett hadn't been so serious about their relationship after such a short time. You know how it goes, meeting, falling in love, choosing love of your life over your family without a blink of an eye in the matter of weeks.. The usual.
Also, I was confused at the end about the time traveling and why (view spoiler) Have I overlooked something?
