Are these books the best I’ve ever read? No. Are these books incredibly captivating and super easy to blow through? YES.
Every time I pick them up, I read 100 pages easily. I love the premise and the characters. And now everything coming together. This book ended on one hell of a cliffhanger, if I didn’t already have the next book ready I would be pissed. But now I’m diving right in.
My only complaints is that I feel like the timeframe could be more stretched out, it’s been like 12 days from the start of the first book. It would feel more realistic if there’s been more time. Because people need time to absorb what’s happened and form an opinion. So the life changing decisions and strong feelings feel more realistic.
I also feel like Maggie isn’t a necessary character for the books. She’s just there to make Gaby hesitate about going into battle or where to go, because someone needs to protect the fragile human. She’s holding Gaby back, and that’s a shame.
Onto the next book!
