Read 2 times. Last read October 14, 2021 to October 21, 2021.

What a God awful boring book. I picked it because I listed to and enjoyed The Corrections but this book was not even close to that earlier work. I was not prepared for all the Christian guilt, the shallow and thoroughly boring characters in this book. Do yourself a favor and find another book.

Geraldine Fitzgerald Couldn’t agree more!

Sharon Dailey Me too, I am almost finished it but it has been one painful read! Good god!

Jill Totally agree!

Darcy I made the mistake and kept reading hoping it would get better, it did not. Dreadful book. I have no desire to try and read any of his other books.

Daphne Summers Ugh. Agreed. Wish I had DNFd this book.

Mónica Cunha I didn't detest it as much as you. But I would rather not having read it. U disliked all the character in equal parts. Everybody seemed made of paper...not real people. I guess I had great expectations, having liked Franzen's other work so much...oh except for Purity, which I also didn't like that much
