really liked it
bookshelves: 2024-reads, favorite-authors, non-fiction, essays, family-stories, funny, women-s-lives, life-and-death

I loved reading these essays about family, friendships, art, travel and living while dying, among other assorted topics. Ann tells stories about her family and her life in such a lovely, often very funny way. You will wish you were one of her many friends, staying in the basement of her house in Nashville and going to Parnassus books to get handpicked recommendations. If you like Ann Patchett's books or Instagram videos, you will enjoy taking a deeper dip into her charmed life. 4.5 stars because it felt a little long and I thought the essay on Eudora Welty belonged better where it started - as an intro to one of her books (since I haven't read her, it didn't speak to me).
