There was a lot of this I loved: the character of Tookie, the eclectic bookstore crowd, Tookie and Pollux's relationship, Flora the ghost. But the meta aspects of it -- the author inserting herself, the COVID-protest-election stuff -- didn't hit right with me and felt a little forced.
