Tell Tale

Let me begin by saying that I really admire the fact the Jeffrey Archer writes short stories. In addition to the stack of novels under his belt, his prolific nature overflows into these shorter works.
Many of the stories close with a sort of punch line and I half-expected to hear a drum rimshot. In the story The Holiday of a Lifetime, he offers three different endings-punchlines and readers can choose which path to choose. Punchlines are a cool way to end a story, I just think he overdid it a tiny bit. In jokes, the embellishment part usually is boring and completely unnecessary, just get to the punchline. In these stories, getting their is most of the fun.
Mild Spoiler Ahead
I like how the criminals don't always have the law catch up to them in the end.
