When Lily Blossom Bloom named her daughter after Dory (the fish) I knew I could not trust Booktok ever again.

Also, imagine having such power that you can literally call your character Lily Blossom Bloom and nobody fucking stops you. I want that much power.

Foxy Rellie reallllll

Florence He’s called Ryle cause he gets RILED UP #literature

Zakiya Valencia She named her child dory smh. Mind you she shared that saying with atlas. Ryle wasn’t the problem she was like she always compared him to her dad and she introduced atlas to her marriage they were doomed from the beginning

Katelyn Barhite She named her daughter after Ryle's brother, and middle name Dory... Not as bad as first name Dory.

Audrey The argument about not trusting BookTok anymore is actually not very strong. It focuses on a character name and a baby name, which are small details and not enough to prove that BookTok is unreliable. Just because an author chooses unusual names doesn’t mean every BookTok recommendation is bad. The argument also uses personal feelings instead of real evidence. It talks about being annoyed or surprised, but it doesn’t show how BookTok overall fails at recommending good books. A stronger argument would use examples of several books that were overhyped or disappointing, not just one moment from one story.
