Valeria is a mage set on saving others. She gets in a tight spot and her last ditch call for help brings infamous Griffin Dare to her rescue. He has been hiding for 6 years due to the tales being spread about him. He knows the truth but was unable to prove it. She is his 2nd chance.

I enjoyed the relationship between these two. How it developed and how two loaners learn to work as a team. He is driven to protect others to his detriment. She forces him to see there are others out there that will not tolerate him sacrificing himself.

So many twists and turns that kept me engaged until the very end.

This is a book 2, but I feel I successfully read it without having read book 1.
