DNF, read to page 139 and just to many characters with weak stories. I really am not sure who the story is about. I read Golden Girls a few weeks ago and have loved so many of her books, but this one feels too forced to enjoy. Maybe I will come back to it again another time.

Couldn’t agree more. She needs to slow down and get back to the books of her earlier years!

I'm trying to finish the book. I only have about 100 pages left, but I'm getting confused with the cast of characters. Especially the smaller ones who are only occasionally mentioned.
I gave up when I got to the ghost. No thanksShe used to be a favorite of mine but ever since 28 Summers, I've struggled to enjoy anything she writes. Wish she'd get back to her previous approach!!
It is rare for me to abandon a book. I'm listening to this as an audiobook I've made it 40% in, nearly halfway, and I am bored out of my mind. I don't truly know the heart of the story because there are so many secondary characters and the author wants to tell all their backstories that it's bugging down the entire book. I read her books in the past and I'm extremely disappointed by this book. I'm actually surprised it's extremely popular.
I felt the same. Finished it hoping the stories would be better and resolve but it was like too much to wrap up and focus on. Just a blah book
I’m reading this now on page 177 and I feel the same. This is not as good as the others by her that I have read.
