I think I would rather be single than have a relationship like the main characters did in this book, it was exhausting😩. I still liked reading Happy Place, the banter and chemistry between Harriet and Wyn started out so good and had me hooked. This had alternating past and present timelines and was in the pov of the fmc Harriet. Harriet and Wyn our main characters were engaged but broke up and now have to pretend at their yearly best friend trip to still be together.

I have conflicting feelings about this book I know I liked it but I didn’t really connect to the romance in it. It was realistic but not fun I was told that I was getting a romcom so I needed a romcom. I needed to see more emotions and reasoning behind their action because it seemed really surface level and there was a lot of us that they were in love and not showing.

I liked the found family aspect and the past povs which were more interesting to me than the present day ones. The writing was great though because even though I’m not convinced about the romance some parts were really good and I loved the quotes. I would give this 3.5 stars but the vibes were immaculate and I couldn’t put it down so 4 stars it is. If your looking for a cute romcom this probably isn’t it but if you like her other book you’ll definitely like this one.
