Once Upon Another Time tackles the subject of grief in a paranormal romance. This can be a difficult subject as we each handle grief in our own way.
The book is NOT a depressing book. I even laughed thru some sections. I liked the way the author did it within an engaging paranormal story... quite a novel idea.
A quick synopsis: The heroine, Aubrey McCory, an up and coming atty and single mother, loses her beloved husband, Matt, in a terrible accident.
The event is so distressing to her that she has no rememberance of the events surrounding his death; Counseling has not helped her to remember.
After the 7th anniversary of Matt's death, Aubrey beings to have paranormal episodes in which Matt appears to be visiting her and leaving items for her to see.
Aubrey meets a new guy, Gavin, a construction engineer/project manager. Gavin surprisingly reminds Aubrey of Matt in many ways.
The book started off great grabbing the reader's interest from the very beginning... then stalled... then picked up again at the end.
Perhaps it was just my reaction to the grief aspect. I was ready for Aubrey to move on before she was ready. :-)))
Overall, I would recommend this book. It reminds each of us that we each handle grief in our own way; you cannot rush a friend when they are dealing with grief.
